Toronto Chinatown & Harbor

This past Friday, we loaded the kids up from our beautiful campground and headed into the city for a little cultural tour. We chose Chinatown for the obvious reason of food and cheap crappy knick knacks to look at. The kids had giant steaming bowls of pork noodles (a la Kung Fu Panda) and Steve and I shared some dumplings. We finished up our lunch by introducing the boys to rambutans, one of my favorite fruits in the world. We ate these almost everyday in South America but haven't seen them since. The ones we found were perfectly red and very sweet. Ryder and I decided they would make a great sorbet.

We walked along Spadina Avenue, past the furriers and ended up at the harbor. It reminded us a lot of Vancouver, B.C. harbor walk with marinas, townhouses and summer festivals. At the end of the day, exhausted, we took a streetcar back which was almost as exciting as a roller coaster ride.
