Road Trippin'

I got this e-mail from a good friend of mine back home and had to share it with anyone interested in "it all".

Hi! We just returned yesterday evening from our 2500 mile road trip. We had a blast. I mean a real, big blast. Being together on the road was amazing and yesterday as we took the tasty last bite of our vacation in the form of a swim in the John Day river just outside of Fossil, I thought of you guys. I totally get your choice on a new level. We felt so free and wherever we were was home. The simple tasks of life that can seem like a burden at home became a joy. Just living was the focus and everything that word encompasses was all we were doing, with pleasure. Life just happened and it was good.

On the same day I read Finding the Open Road , a roadtrip nation book and walked away with this:

"So, what do you want to do with your life?
You should
A. Be a Lawyer, a doctor, an accountant, a consultant"
BLAH BLAH BLAH
Everywhere you turn, people try to tell you who to be and what to do with your life.
We call that the "noise".
Block it. Shed it. Leave it for the CONFORMISTS.
As a generation, we need to get back to focusing on INDIVIDUALITY.
Self Construction rather than mass production.
Define your own road in life instead of traveling down somebody else's.
Listen to Yourself. Your road is the open road. Find it.
FIND THE OPEN ROAD.
