Toronto Zoo + Fish & Chips

Phelan's actual birthday, June 3, 2010, six years old. We headed to the Toronto zoo for the day and walked what felt like 50 miles. It's a big zoo. The theme of the day though were baby animals - everywhere. We saw baby baboons, monkeys, tigers, horses - many little ones climbing around. It was perfect for Phelan who is a little obsessed with seasons and seasons changing. He's been asking when summer starts which always makes us laugh because to us we are wondering when has it not been summer? After the zoo we headed to a fish and chip shop where we were invited by some other campers for dinner. They own the shop and live above it with their five kids. Harry has worked at Golden Crisp since he was eight years old (now he's 48). His kids were very welcoming and shared their trampolene, toys and life with our boys for the evening. We had ice cream at the end of the day, per Phelan's request. It was a good day and it took us all the next day to recover.
